To achieve the best possible sewing result, it is not only important to set the thread tension correctly, but also to choose the right needle and thread for the fabric in question. Here you will find a rough overview of our recommendations: LINK
Functions
All VERITAS sewing and embroidery machines can also be used for free-arm work.
The free arm function makes it possible to sew tubular areas such as trouser hems and sleeve cuffs. Our VERITAS sewing machines offer this function by removing the extension table.

Problems & Solutions
Please check that the mains cable is connected and that the main switch on the back of the appliance is switched on.
The sewing light should now come on and/or the stitch selection should light up.
In the last step, check that the foot control is connected.
Check whether the needle is bent and replace it if necessary.
Also check, especially after changing the needle, whether the needle is at the top of the holder and firmly fixed.
The threader tongue may be defective. In this case, please contact VERITAS customer service on 00800 333 00 777 (toll-free).
Please check that the bobbin winder pin is engaged in the left sewing position.
The machine cannot sew in the right-hand position. This is the bobbin winding function.
If loops form on the underside of the fabric, increase the upper thread tension by setting a higher number.
Please also check whether there are any thread remnants or fluff in the tension discs and clean the space between them with a toothpick or brush if necessary.
If, on the other hand, loops form on the top of the fabric, reduce the upper thread tension by setting a lower number.
Please also check whether there are any thread remnants or fluff in the tension discs.
Is your sewing needle bent or blunt? Fit a new needle as a precaution. The flat part of the needle must point backwards and the needle must be pushed all the way up the shaft provided.
Then thread the needle again.
In the event of skipped stitches and unhooking, please also check the needle/thread/fabric ratio:
When sewing thin fabrics, we recommend using a thin needle and a thin thread.
When sewing thick fabrics, we recommend using a thick needle and a thick thread.
The needle may have sewn onto the stitch plate or the presser foot, causing it to become misaligned.
In this case, please also fit a new needle.
Please remove the thread nests, thread again and check the thread path:
Is the bobbin thread running counterclockwise? That is correct. Is it running on the left side over the bobbin in the direction of the throat plate opening? This is the correct direction.
Tip: Sew without cutting the bobbin thread with the thread cutter.
Check the threading, reduce the thread tension, select a larger needle or insert the needle correctly.
If you have lowered the feed dog using the slider and now want to raise it again, first move the slider back to the position shown in the picture below.
Then either operate the foot control for a short time or turn the handwheel manually by one or two turns.
The feed dog should now come up and feed the fabric as usual.
In rare cases, the spaces between the feed dogs may be dirty and should be cleaned.
Please check whether the feed dog is lowered.
Perhaps the stitch length is at 0 and is preventing the feed? In this case, increase the number of stitch lengths.
In rare cases, the spaces between the feed dog may be dirty and should be cleaned.
Please check that the PUSH lever is at the top and that the “Buttonhole” function is switched off.
Move the PUSH lever down and push it slightly forwards and backwards until the machine feeds the fabric again.
