Functions
Yes, both the stitch length and the stitch width of the VERITAS Bessie can be changed using the machine buttons.
- The stitch length is infinitely variable from 0.0 to 4.5 mm.
- The stitch width is infinitely variable from 0.0 to 7.0 mm.
Yes, the VERITAS Amelia has an auto-lock function, also known as the automatic sewing function. This function is used to secure the start and end of a seam.
The automatic sewing function makes it possible to lock the start and end of the seam by sewing several times in the same place, creating a knot that secures the seam. This function eliminates the need to sew forwards and backwards several times at the start and end of a seam.
Yes, turn the control counterclockwise to reduce the pressure for thin fabrics and clockwise to increase the pressure for heavy fabrics.
Yes, the thread tension is set using a rotary dial on the top of the machine, the default setting of which is “4”. The correct setting is important for good sewing results and depends on the fabric/stitch combination.
Yes, the start/stop button enables sewing without a foot pedal. The machine starts slowly and then accelerates up to the set speed.
The Veritas Amelia has a fully automatic thread cutter. After sewing, the thread cutter can be activated at the touch of a button. Both the upper and lower threads are cut automatically, making the sewing project more efficient and cleaner.
Yes, but the twin needle is not included in the scope of delivery.
Maintenance
The sewing machine must be disconnected from the power supply for maintenance and cleaning. The throat plate can be removed and the feed dog and bobbin case cleaned with a brush. The hook should be regularly cleaned of lint and thread remnants and lubricated with sewing machine oil (not included! Do not use regular cooking oil!). It is important to maintain the machine regularly to ensure a long service life.
The LCD display and the surface of the machine should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, a damp cloth with a little neutral detergent can be used.
Accessories
VERITAS Amelia is supplied with a wide range of accessories:
All-purpose foot, zipper foot, buttonhole foot, overlock foot, blind hem foot, satin stitch foot, button presser foot, quilt guide, seam ripper and brush, bobbins (3x), screwdriver (small & large), quality needles, spool pin and felt pad, second spool pin, 64-piece sewing thread set, stitch card holder, L-screwdriver
The satin stitch foot is a special presser foot developed for sewing satin stitches and other decorative stitches. It is characterized by a continuous notch on the underside. This notch allows the foot to glide easily over the thickness of the stitch shape created by closely spaced zigzag stitches and to feed the fabric evenly.
The blind stitch foot is a special sewing foot designed for sewing invisible hems. It is used to sew hems so that the seam on the right side of the fabric is little or not visible.
